eBook lovers will dig this new way to get free books

Who doesn’t like to read a good book? Do you still enjoy going to a bookstore or library to find one?

Maybe you’re a tech enthusiast and like reading books online or on devices like Kindle. Technology has made it possible so that a trip to the library is no longer necessary. Or is it?

In recent years, libraries have caught up with technology, offering eBook lovers even more choices. Now, Google wants a page of that action.

The company has added a new feature to Search that’ll show you if the next book you’re wanting to read is at your local library. Yes, eBooks are available for checkout at many libraries in case you haven’t tried it.

In fact, many libraries across the United States have a digital collection you can borrow from. Even though libraries have come a long way technologically, some systems are considered archaic.

Google Search

That’s where Google comes in. They want to do the legwork for you. Their Search feature is available to desktop and mobile users in the United States.

So, if you want to find a hard copy book or eBook, all you need to do is look for the tab labeled “get book.” It should work for most book searches. Once you tap on that, you have an option to enter your city or ZIP code to check for a book availability.

If you tap on the link to borrow an eBook, you’ll be taken to a page that asks you to either sign in or sign up with your local library.

It’s so easy to use and gives you another choice as to whether or not to go to the library.
