One of the fastest-rising sports leagues in the world is coming back to Hockeytown, and you can see the exciting action for yourself in person.

Next month, as part of the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s Takeover Tour, the Minnesota Frost and New York Sirens will face off at Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings.

The game is set to take place on Sunday, March 16, with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

Last year, Ottawa and Boston set an attendance record for a professional women’s hockey game in the United States, with 13,376 seeing Boston beat Ottawa in a shootout. While it’s too early to tell if they will reach that mark again, or eclipse the new record of 14,018 set in Denver last month, early ticket sales show another good crowd will be on hand.

It will also be an important game for both teams. The Frost, headlined by players such as Kendall Coyne Schofield, Sophie Jaques and Maddie Rooney, are battling for a playoff spot in the league standings.

On the other side, the Sirens, headlined by Detroit native Elle Hartje, alongside star players Alex Carpenter and Sarah Fillier, are simply fighting to stay in the playoff race.
