Highlights include whiskey tasting, traditional Irish music and dance alongside a special St Patrick's Day mass at 10am, March 17.

The Night Owl will host The Mighty Craic: St Patrick's Festival Party on March 16, with live music and DJs playing party tunes with a few Irish favourites.

Located inside the Custard Factory, Mockingbird Cinema will pay tribute to Irish cinema with a showing of two films on March 16.

Coming of age comedy War of the Buttons (12pm) and musical drama Sing Street (2pm) will be the two films selected to mark St Patrick's Day weekend.

On the same day, Autobrew will be holding live music until late, a discount on Jameson cocktails and Irish coffees with the opportunity to pour your own Guinness.

In total, The Anchor, Autobrew, The Big Bull’s Head, Cleary’s, The Fountain, Hennessey’s, The Mockingbird Cinema and Bar, The Moseley Arms, The Night Owl, Nortons, The Old Crown, Redcorc, Sobremesa, The Rainbow Pub, The Ruin, and The White Swan will all be marking St Patrick’s Day with additional events and offers.

Birmingham historian Carl Chinn said: “For centuries, Digbeth and Deritend were at the core of Birmingham, stretching out from these two medieval streets to thrust itself onto the world stage as the city of a 1000 trades.

“After 1945, though, Digbeth and Deritend declined, but thankfully Irish Brummies have revived them.

“Rejuvenating old factories and buildings and reinvigorating historic pubs, they’ve transformed Digbeth and Deritend into a vital entertainment, cultural, and social hub, ensuring that they remain at the core of Birmingham”.
