An author from Lancashire has released a new book in which she claims to know just how many paedophiles are living in one area of the county.

As part of the ‘true stories by ordinary people’ series, Angela Coppice, from Preston, has written a tell-all book entitled, A Golden Mile of Paedophiles: Sun Sea Sand And Sex Offenders, Welcome To The Dark Side Of Blackpool.

The book, released in paperback on September 23, claims that 700 convicted, high risk sex offenders, paedophiles and rapists are currently living in the seaside resort.

Angela says it was something she discovered after a day out in the town with her probation officer friend.

The book also claims to include information and details from a senior Blackpool police officer, which Angela says will "leave the millions of people who visit Blackpool every year, as well as residents of the town, shocked".

The book’s blurb reads: “Blackpool is arguably the most famous seaside resort in Britain. Over fifteen million people visit there every year.

“But what very few of those fifteen million people know is that walking amongst them on the seafront, and stood next to them in the amusement arcades, are notorious paedophiles, sex offenders, child abusers and rapists.

“Angela Coppice lives not far away from Blackpool in Preston. And she recently went to Blackpool with her friend for the day.

"Her friend is a probation officer who works with sex offenders and in a single day she saw five paedophiles that she knew, all of whom had been convicted for abusing young children.”

Angela’s story is part of the ‘true stories by ordinary people’ series, which includes, The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round And When The Bus Stops A Paedophile Gets On; Florida or Blackpool?; and Justice With A Grave Outcome, which tells of how one dad and his friend took the law into their own hands after his daughter was attacked by a paedophile and killed him.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said while they wouldn’t comment on the figures directly, they believed there were some inaccuracies in Angela's estimations.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “We have some of the toughest powers in the world to deal with sex offenders living in the community, to ensure they cannot hide their criminal past.

“We are further strengthening the regime for managing registered sex offenders and those who pose a risk through the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act.”

Angela’s book is available from Amazon, priced at £10.
