WE BOOK OUT 7 DAYS IN ADVANCE. REPORTER: ALL OF THEIR SITE INCLUDING JOHN FORBES’ MEDICAP PHARMACY IN URBANDALE, FOUND THEMSELVES BOOKED THROUGH THE END OF JANUARY BUT THAT WILL SOON CHANGE. Iowa reports 452 new COVID-19 cases, no additional deaths Monday
The Iowa Department of Public Health Monday reported 452 new positive COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths.The health department, as of 10 a.m., reported 313,263 total positive cases, 274,734 total recoveries and 4,488 total deaths since the pandemic began. A day earlier, the health department reported 312,811 total cases and 4,488 total deaths.State data shows Iowa’s 14-day positivity rate is 11% and the 7-day positivity rate is 8.5%. IDPH data shows 1,448,928 Iowans have been tested for the virus, while 3,504,393 tests have been administered.Of Iowa’s 99 counties, nine report a 14-day positivity rate greater than 15%. Kossuth County is the only county with a rate higher than 20%, at 23.3%. Marshall County has the lowest positivity rate in the state at 5.2%.The number of Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19 increased by one overnight to 383. The number of patients admitted in the last 24 hours dropped from 51 to 40. There are 78 patients in intensive care and 37 patients on ventilators.The number of long-term care facilities reporting virus outbreaks dropped from 72 to 68. There are 1,835 positive cases and 1,012 recoveries among residents and staff within those facilities.
