Alabama’s Secretary of State John Merrill announced that electronic poll books will be used for the upcoming Presidential Election.

Using electronic poll books will help increase security and the speed of the check-in process for voters.

Sixty-three of Alabama’s 67 counties will be using electronic poll books.

Merrill said that 4 counties did not take advantage of the new poll books for this election, but they will be implemented across the entire state by 2022.

“Bullock, Sumter, Marion, and Green elected not to use the electronic poll book even though I paid for it with these federal resources that we had available to us,” said Merrill.
