Nazi propaganda books branding Jews 'race defilers' and 'the devil in human form' are on sale on Amazon in English

  • 'The Poisoned Mushroom', from 1938, was used as evidence at Nuremberg Trials
  • Book brands Jews 'as a race defiler, devil in human form, a poisonous mushroom'
  • Publisher Julius Streicher, friend of Hitler, convicted of crimes against humanity
  • The other book 'The Mongrel', published in 1940, advocates the killing of Jews

Anti-Semitic books published by the Nazis at the height of the Third Reich have been translated into English and are being sold on Amazon.

The first book, 'Der Giftpilz', which translates as 'The Poisoned Mushroom', was published in German in 1938 and was used as evidence at the Nuremberg Trials.

The company faces a storm of controversy over the publication of the children's books just a year after it was forced to remove bottle openers and towels bearing photographs of Auschwitz.

'This book brands the Jew as a persecutor of the labour class, as a race defiler, devil in human form, a poisonous mushroom, and a murderer,' the trial report stated.

'This particular book instructed school children to recognise the Jew by caricature of his physical features, shown on Pages 6 and 7; taught them that the Jew abuses little boys and girls, on Page 30; and that the Jewish Bible permits all crimes, Pages 13-17.'

After the trials, the book's multi-millionaire publisher Julius Streicher, founder and editor of the Nazi newsletter Der Stürmer and friend of Adolf Hitler, was convicted of crimes against humanity and executed.

Yet the 64-page paperback, now translated into English, was published by Third Reich Books on Amazon's independent publishing platform CreateSpace on July 29, 2017 and is being sold for £7.67 on Amazon Prime.

Its first page states: 'Just as it is often hard to tell a toadstool [a poisonous mushroom] from an edible mushroom, so too is it often very hard to recognize the Jew as a swindler and criminal.'

'The Poisonous Mushroom is translated from the Third Reich original Der Giftpilz,' gushes Amazon's description.

'That rare picture book, published by the Stürmer Verlag of Julius Streicher, is much sought after by collectors.'

The other paperback 'Der Pudelmopsdackelpinscher' or 'The Mongrel', was published in 1940 and advocates the killing of Jews.

Also published by CreateSpace, on August 4, 2017, it is being openly marketed on Amazon Prime for £7.61.

Its description states: 'This book is also rare, even among Third Reich books, in its open call to totally destroy Jewry, and indeed world-wide, as a necessary final step in an inescapable struggle to the death between Jewry and all the non-Jewish folks of the world….

'Just like the snake threat is only then totally removed, if the poisonous snakes are totally cleaned out, so is the Jewish question only then solved, if Jewry is destroyed.

'Mankind must know that in the Jewish question there is only a hard 'either-or'; for: If we do not kill the Jewish poisonous snake, then it will kill us!'

Executive producer Sheldon Lazarus said: 'For Amazon to be selling Nazi kid's books is unbelievable but for them to print them in Britain is just appalling. These are not books for collectors but for our children.

'Twenty years ago, both Amazon and eBay were having issues with Nazi memorabilia being sold on their site. I would have thought in this day and age, that would have stopped due to the sophistication of technology.

'If Amazon can predict what you want buy then they should be able to stop this filth. I cannot understand why the world's richest man Jeff Bezos cannot monitor what is being sold on his company's website.'

Amazon has been approached for comment.
